Les choses vont un peu mieux chez Footwork Arrows. Le solide moteur Mugen Honda sera beaucoup plus fiable que le Porsche, mais le châssis se révèle instable et difficile à mettre au point, ce qui causera bien du soucis aux pilotes en course.
