Dan Gurney demeure le seul Américain à avoir gagné au volant d'une voiture de sa construction.
La disposition interne de la partie museau de la voiture était assez complexe pour l'époque, avec des conduits refroidissant les composés surchauffés. De plus, de petites fentes de ventilation étaient découpées sur les arbres de suspension avant pour favoriser les arrivées d'air.
