Located 70 km east of Faro, this circuit was built in 2008 with the aim of hosting Formula 1.
The financial difficulties of the owners, however, put this ambition on hold. Following the Covid 19 pandemic, the calendar for the 2020 season has been significantly modified, which will allow the circuit to welcome the F1 as part of the Portuguese Grand Prix.
